nicheAce — Multi-Language Learning
You can delete your nicheAce account and your personal data at any time. This page explains the two ways to do it, what is deleted, what we may keep and why, and how long each step takes.
This page relates to the nicheAce app and its developer, as shown in the Google Play Store listing.
How to delete your account
You have two options. Both fully delete your account — there is no need to use both.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest, immediate)
- Open nicheAce and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Privacy.
- Tap Delete account.
- To confirm it is really you, re-enter your account password.
- Type DELETE when prompted, and confirm.
Your account and associated data are deleted immediately. You will be signed out and will no longer be able to log in with this account.
Option 2 — By request, without the app
If you have already uninstalled nicheAce, have lost access to your device, or simply prefer not to use the in-app option:
- Send an email to dominik.moelsen@nicheace.ai.
- Use the subject line “Account deletion request”.
- Send the email from the email address registered to your nicheAce account, and include that address in the body so we can identify your account.
- We will verify your identity, then delete your account and the data listed below.
Timeframe: we will action your request within one month (we may extend this by up to two further months for complex requests; if we do, we will tell you why within the first month). We verify your identity before acting on any request.
Before deleting, you may want a copy of your data. Use Settings → Privacy → Export my data in the app, or ask for a portable copy in your deletion email. This is your right to data portability under Article 20 GDPR.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data linked to your account, including:
- Your account and identity — email address, display name, the pseudonymous identifier from our identity provider, and your language preferences.
- Your learning data — exercise answers, guided-practice and role-play conversations, AI-generated feedback and grading, vocabulary records, and your learning progress.
- Your consent and preference choices, including the policy version you accepted.
- Your behavioural / anti-cheat data (keystroke and sensor interaction events used to detect bots).
- Your exercise rewards and credit history.
- Your session records and device tokens, and saved sign-in information on your device.
- Your data-export history and any stored data-export files we generated for you (including the files held in our object storage).
- Your in-app purchase and subscription records associated with your account (store transaction identifiers, amounts, credits granted, subscription status).
Your account is also removed from our identity provider (Auth0 EU). This deletion is irreversible.
What we may keep, and why
A small amount of data may outlive your account, only where it has already stopped being personal data or where we must keep it:
| Data | Kept? | For how long | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anonymised AI-training data | Yes | Indefinitely | If you had consented to AI training, some of your learning data may already have been de-identified and added to our model-training corpus before you deleted your account. De-identification removes the link to your account and to the specific exercise, strips personal identifiers from the text, and coarsens timestamps, so the data can no longer be attributed to you. Once de-identified, it is no longer personal data and is kept for model training. Withdrawing your AI-training consent stops any future use of your still-linked data, but does not reverse de-identification already performed. |
| Database backups | Temporarily | Removed within 30 days | Existing routine backups may still contain your data at the moment of deletion. These backups are overwritten and removed within 30 days. |
| Security & audit logs | Yes | 3–5 years | We retain a cross-border transfer register (which holds only a hashed identifier, never your email) and our personal-data breach register for the periods required by EU/UK law (3 years and 5 years respectively). These are security/compliance records used only for legal accountability — not to identify or contact you — and are not removed by account deletion. |
| Already-aggregated / de-identified records | Yes | Per their own retention | Records that were already stripped of your identifiers before your request (for example, aggregate AI cost/usage analytics that contain no user ID) are not personal data and are kept for their operational purpose. |
Other than the above, no personal data linked to your account is retained after deletion.
Your related rights
Deleting your account is one of your rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR. You also have the right to access, correct, restrict, object to, or port your data, and to withdraw consent. See our Privacy Notice for the full list and how to exercise any of them. You can also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (see our Contact page).
