Lead with what is yours

1 min read

The short answer

"Learn with the screen off" tells you what you want to hear. My first headline led with it. Then I counted: more than 10 language apps already promise that you learn while you walk or cook. A headline 10 others own is noise. So the first line is now the job: the 15-week language programme for the work you actually do. The second line is screen off when you want it: by ear or on paper.

Lead with what is yours. Plays from YouTube when you press play.

Two routes without the phone

There are two ways to do a learning day in nicheAce without looking at the phone.

Audio Mode reads the day to you, and you answer out loud. Paper mode prints the day on one sheet. You write, you scan, it counts.

Two routes. And my first draft of the headline led with them.

Then I counted

More than 10 language apps already promise that you learn while you walk or cook. A headline 10 others own is noise.

And honestly, Audio Mode is not on every plan and not in every language. It reads five of our eight languages. Leading with it would have been the loudest half-true sentence on the page.

The new order

The first line is the job: the 15-week language programme for the work you actually do.

The second line is how you fit it in: screen off when you want it, by ear or on paper.

Everywhere with room for two lines, that is the order now. Before: the feature first. After: your field first.

Why the niche comes first

The niche comes first, because that is what the meeting asks: the words for your grant, your audit, your thesis.

Screen off is how you get through the week.

Everything else is the second line

Lead with what is yours. Everything else is the second line.

Describe your field. The second line takes care of itself.

nicheAce: language is on Google Play. English first, seven more languages.
