A plant, not a score

1 min read

The short answer

Everything in a 15-week journey comes down to one plant. On the nicheAce journey screen, a bamboo grows, one node a week, with the day's weather above it. You see a week, not a score. A missed day is the weather, not a broken chain.

One node a week, and the day's weather

On the journey screen, a bamboo grows. One node per week, 15 nodes for one journey. And above it, the day's weather.

Sun when you practised, 30 days in a row. Clouds when you did not practise enough. Rain when you did nine days in a row.

Nothing added. Nothing invented. It shows the week you actually had.

What the first version counted

The first version counted: days done, a percentage, a number that went up. I built it and I did not look at it.

The plant replaced the number

The plant replaced the number. And then the plant became the brand: the app, the account, the website. The same bamboo, the same weather, one node a week.

Before: a number that goes up and down. After: a plant that only grows. And the weather that tells the truth about your day.

A missed day is the weather

A missed day is the weather, not a broken chain. The plant stays.

Fifteen weeks is the season, and the season has rain in it. Compare that with the number that drops the morning after a hard day at work.

Wait for the node that appears in week one. That is the moment it clicks.

Progress you can see

Progress you can see, without the number to lose.

Describe your field and watch the first node grow.
